SOLO Cosplay Competition



How to participate

  • The number of participants is capped at 15 people.
  • Online registration is preferred by submitting your personal details in the competition form provided, together with reference pictures of your character to [email protected].
  • The closing date for online registration is on the 1st September 2011 or when the quota of 15 contestants is reached.
  • On-the-spot registration is applicable only when the quota is yet to be reached.
  • Mark your attendance at the AMG Office during the event day, before the competition.
  • The order of performance will be according to participant's registration number.
  • Before the competition , participants are expected to be at the judges table.
  • Further instructions will be given by the judges or the emcee then.

Assessment Criteria


Preliminary Stage

  • Each participant when called on stage, are to do a maximum 90 seconds ( 1:30 min ) performance, either with or without help from fellow helpers (max 2).
  • All participants are eligible to use their own music or sountrack, however, you must inform us either by emailing any music files (.mp3) before the event or at least 30 minutes before the competition to the AMG Office.
  • The marks obtained will be determined by the following criteria:
  • Costume : 40%
    Character Potrayal : 40%
    Performance : 20%
  • At the end of the preliminary competition, the finalists will be decided.

Finale Stage

  • After the announcement of the finalists, participants will be asked to choose an image. Once an image is chosen, the participant cannot change his/her choice.
  • During the final round, finalists are to perform creatively based on the image given.
  • The marks obtained from the judges will be determined by the following criteria:
  • Character Potrayal : 40%
    Creativity : 40%
    Image Relevance : 20%
  • The top 2 winners will be decided solely by the panel judges. Any decisions made by the judges are final.



DUET Cosplay Competition



How to participate

  • The number of participants is capped at 20 people (10 pairings x2).
  • Online registration is preferred by submitting your personal details in the competition form provided, together with reference pictures of the relevant characters to [email protected]
  • The closing date for online registration is on the 1st September 2011 or when the quota of 10 pairings is reached.
  • On-the-spot registration is applicable only when the quota is yet to be reached.
  • Mark your attendance at the AMG Office during the event day, before the competition.
  • The order of performance will be according to participant's registration number.
  • Before the competition , participants are expected to be at the judges table.
  • Further instructions will be given by the judges or the emcee then.

  • Contestants are to follow as mentioned in the instruction given.

  • Character Potrayal : 40%
    Creativity : 40%
    Scene Fulfillment : 20%
  • The top 2 winners will be decided solely by the panel judges. Any decisions made by the judges are final.



Terms and Conditions



  • The cosplay competition is open to everyone, regardless of nationality.
  • Ensure that you've read and understand all the general rules and regulations of the competition.

Extra Rules and Regulations

  • Characters chosen by contestants must be from the genre of Japanese Anime, Manga, and Games only.
  • Cosmetics, costumes or tools are to be prepared by the contestants themselves.
  • Be sure that cosplayers must be about minimum 70-80% dressed similar to the characters portrayed.
  • Contestants are required to dress decently. Revealing clothes and nudity are strictly prohibited.
  • Self-made weapons or tools allowed are:
  • Artificial/Toy guns without being loaded
  • Anything that are made of:
  • Wood
  • Aluminum foils (with no sharp/protruding ends),
  • Polystyrene
  • Cardboards
  • Paper & art clays
  • Other non toxic/dangerous materials
  • Materials that are strictly not allowed are as below:
  • Real hand guns with live ammunition
  • Any types of hard metal or metal foil(except aluminum foils)
  • Blades or any sharp objects
  • Glass
  • Spray Paint cans and other aerosol related products
  • Any chemically hazardous (Inflammable, radioactive, corrosive, reactive or volatile) objects
  • Lighter, matches or anything that can cause fire
  • Any wheeled vehicles (Bicycles, scooters, inline skaters, skateboards, etc)
  • Any potentially dangerous or harmful properties, either listed or unlisted above brought along, will be handed to the committee for safekeeping until either the end of the event and/or the owner chooses to leave.
